European Prostate Center in Gronau (Germany)

Clinic specialization

Oncology
Urology
Surgery
The Prostate Center Europe in Gronau is a specialized medical institution that treats benign and malignant neoplasms on the prostate gland. The main advantage of the clinic is the use of robotic surgery and modern diagnostic methods. This allows the clinic to make the treatment as painless as possible, preserving potency and reproductive function.
For diagnosis, a fusion prostate biopsy is used here. This is a painless procedure, during which the possibility of damage to the rectum is excluded. At the same time, the accuracy of detecting malignant cells is 65% higher. The clinic also uses traditional methods for detecting prostate diseases, including:
  • prostate-specific antigen test;
  • Ultrasound;
  • MRI.
The center has long refused to perform open operations for resection of the prostate gland. Only robotic interventions are performed here. For this purpose, the clinic has 5 Da Vinci systems installed, including the most modern - Da Vinci Xi. The operation is performed through micro-cuts. Thanks to robots, all the manipulations are very accurate. This allows the staff to avoid unnecessary traumatization, relieve the patient from pain during the healing process and speed up his recovery. According to the statistics of the center, in almost 95% of cases it is possible to avoid postoperative urinary incontinence and in almost 89% of cases to preserve potency.
The clinic accepts even difficult patients, the oldest of whom was 83 years old at the time of the operation.

Patient feedback on treatment:
European Prostate Center in Gronau (Germany)

We publish only real reviews
From the very first contact, even before arriving in Gronau, I felt surrounded by the care of a team of medical coordinators. Support in difficult times, attention to detail, quick resolution of all issues, and they, given the specifics of 2020, frankly speaking, were enough.
I must say that personal acquaintance, upon arrival, with Roman, Natalia and Valentina only strengthened this impression.

The clinic itself, conditions and equipment are worthy of the highest praise. Many have already noted that you don't feel "in the hospital" there. The whole team, including doctors, nurses, coordinators, creates some amazing positive atmosphere. And at the same time, they are professionals of the highest level, and the clinic itself is one of the best in the world for the treatment of prostate cancer. And, of course, special thanks to Dr. Witt, for the brilliantly performed operation and for the energy with which he charges everyone around
I had a difficult situation. They misidentified the stage, lost almost a year, and then it turned out that it was too late to operate. There were doubts to the last. Thanks to Dr. Witt for deciding on the operation and not being afraid of difficulties. Six months have passed, and I have literally come back to life.
I've never written reviews. This is my first experience. So to speak - a tribute of gratitude to the clinic. I will try to be brief and not write long opuses.

Regarding the clinic, I was pleasantly pleased and surprised by the professionalism at all levels.

During the first phone conversation with a representative of the clinic, I received not just all the information I needed, but also hope for recovery. I still feel very grateful to Roman Tessman. It was with him that my recovery began.

Of course, it is impossible to single out one person when everyone is good and professional: dear Natalia and the impetuous Svetlana accompanying and taking care of me, the entire staff of nurses from the nuclear icebreaker Violetta, to the charming Katrina.

And, of course, the doctors:

A urologist who so skillfully changed my stoma that for the first time in my life I did not experience pain and unpleasant sensations from this procedure, but I had it changed many times before; an anesthesiologist who summed up our conversation with the words: "This will be the shortest day in your life – You will fall asleep and wake up"; and finally, Dr. Schuette, a person who simply infects you with optimism. My special thanks to him. The difficult, many-hour operation went well.

Now I'm on my way to a full recovery. Thanks again to the clinic and all its employees.
The whole situation in the clinic contributes to a quick recovery after surgery. There is no feeling that you are in a hospital. There are not even smells characteristic of Russian medical institutions.

Excellent conditions in the patient rooms, very attentive staff, urologists and Dr. Witt are really TOP in their field of medicine.
I want to share my experience of treatment at the European Prostate Center in Gronau. As a urologist with 32 years of experience, he was very critical of everything that was happening to me and my neighbors on the ward. Moreover, all this costs hard-earned money.

In June, hospitalization, biopsy. After 2.5 days, I realized how everything is thought out, clearly organized, debugged to the smallest detail.

After histology, cancer, 1.5 months hospitalization, bilateral prostatectomy with removal of lymph nodes. Today, on the 6th day, I am discharged satisfied, happy with the understanding that I am free from cancer physically and psychologically.
Believe me, in Gronau some approaches are more progressive than in London or...This is the opinion of colleagues of urologists from Ukraine and Russia.

At first, one thing tormented me - some village on the edge of Germany, but more than 1,500 prostatectomies on a robot per year! This is more than in any other European center.

The continuous "casting of steel" here is accompanied by an attentive attitude to capricious and omniscient (that's me) even doctors. No one has caused discontent, no one has made a mistake, no one has said NO.

Starting with the meeting with the Russian-speaking coordinators, then the laboratory, the MRI, the anesthesiologist, the operating urologist, the nurses, the nurses, all work as a single organism and all listen to you. They really want to help.

Of course, it is customary for us to go to a doctor for a surgeon, for a specific name. Of course I don't know anyone here. Of course, I saw on the blackboard staff and professors and the head of the department and other venerable urologists, but...

Why did I choose Sergey Vladimirovich Sarychev? Everything is simple. While I was lying for the first time for 3 days on a biopsy, he did 2 prostatectomies on a robot for all 3 days (this is about 4-4.5 hours). Every single day. And he has been doing this day in and day out for several years. That is, the experience is enormous. In addition, Doetor Sarychev inspires trust and confidence in communication. Confidence by the way in yourself, in him, in the clinic.

In a word, a low bow and a huge thank you to the team of coordinators: Natalia, Valentina, Svetlana, Roman. nurses Sandra, Elena, Anna-Katrin, Lucas and of course Dr. S.V. Sarychev.

God grant you!
I would like to thank Dr. Andreas Schuette for his care, treatment and his individual approach to my situation. Everything was at the highest level. I had an unusual situation after the operation, I had to leave the catheter almost until I was discharged, and Dr. Schutte himself washed the catheter for me, although it would be quite possible to entrust this procedure to the nurse on duty. And even on weekends he came to me to ask about my well-being. At some point, I even felt uncomfortable that the leading specialist was so closely involved with me.

All this would not have been possible without the help of the clinic staff from the international department. Evgenia "grabbed" me by the arms from the very first appeal - a phone call and led me through the whole process imperceptibly, professionally, in a friendly way, with feeling, with sense, with arrangement.

Thank you all for participating in my recovery, everything will be fine!

Many thanks to all the staff of the clinic for their attention and highly professional work. And, I also want to mention the work of the coordinators. Thank you for being there all the time, supporting and helping to solve all the issues. The clinic is very clean. Cleaning of wards and change of linen daily. Nurses come to patients often: to measure pressure, temperature, drive and take patients to / from the examination, bring pills, give injections. If something bothers the patient, they come right away. There is a nurse call button. And even at night the sisters come quickly. There are definitely Russian-speaking nurses, so there are no problems with understanding – you can always explain yourself and they will understand you. Food is brought by order: there is a menu for every day of your choice, they feed 4-5 times a day. The ward is single, spacious, shower, toilet, everything is clean and comfortable. There is a TV, but there are no Russian channels. There is a telephone and Internet in the ward. Coordinators are present every day during the doctor's rounds. You ask the doctor questions and he answers them. You can go for a walk. There is a very beautiful park around the clinic. All medical staff, both senior (doctors) and middle (nurses) are very polite. The clinic is always calm and quiet, like in a sanatorium. The urologist is very attentive. Russian-speaking urologists work in the department. They explain everything perfectly, in addition, they morally support and help patients overcome the fear of surgery.
I express my deep gratitude and respect to the entire staff of the urology department for professional help in my trouble, especially to Dr. Y. Vitt, urologist Javid, anesthesiologist, medical staff, as well as my coordinators Natalia, Svetlana. All the actions of the attendants were carried out at the agreed time, and I received qualified answers to all my questions. God grant them help in their noble and so necessary work for sick people.

The attitude of the entire hospital staff towards me was excellent. There was a positive atmosphere all around. Despite my ignorance of the German language, I did not feel violated, and my requests were fulfilled qualitatively. We talked to one of the urologists in Russian, which was very convenient. The urologist answered all my questions and explained my actions for the subsequent time after the operation.
Dear men! I am 67 years old. I live in Russia. My health problems started a year and a half ago. Urination with blood, kidneys, a tumor in the bladder, prostate disease, high PSA levels..all this led me to the best domestic clinics and our best specialists. Unfortunately, almost a year was lost, not only time was lost, but also financial resources were spent. I realized that I had reached a dead end. At the strict insistence of my friend, who was undergoing treatment in Germany, I turned to the European Prostate Treatment Center in Gronau, Germany. Apparently, fate took pity on me, I found what I needed.
Very competent professional coordinators very quickly solved all organizational problems from paperwork, filling out questionnaires, determining the schedule of examination and treatment to booking tickets, taxis, hotel reservations, travel routes, meetings at the clinic.

Further stay in the hospital causes only surprise, good mood and positive emotions. Accompanied by wonderful coordinators Natasha and Katerina, who guide the patient all the time until discharge. The clinic team is headed by a top-level professional, Dr. Witt. He managed to gather in his team the same professionally trained specialists as Dr. Zinke, Sergey Sarychev and many others. In addition to professionalism, these doctors are distinguished by the highest sense of responsibility and a merciful attitude towards all patients.

Special thanks are due to the junior medical staff, who are very attentive, caring, helpful and meticulous in terms of performing the regime and procedures. Excellent living conditions, a wonderful park, which you get to immediately leaving the hospital building, a zoo, all this distracts from gloomy thoughts about the disease, encourages you to enjoy life. And perhaps the most important thing is the highest level of technical equipment of the clinic, DA VINCI robots of the latest generation, which, together with the golden hands of doctors, allow us to work miracles, returning us MEN to a full life!!!

Thanks to the ECP and a low bow!
Age 62, place of residence - Sverdlovsk region. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to say a big human thank you to the entire professional team of the European Prostate Center for the highly professional work of all medical staff, starting with the doctors of the clinic and ending with the nurses. I would especially like to thank the chief physician J.H. Witt for his high professionalism in his hard work, personal approach to each patient. Explains in an accessible and visual way the problem of his illness and solutions. Thanks to the urologists and physiotherapists who explain and show very well how to carry out further procedures and exercises after surgery. The atmosphere in the clinic is friendly, there is a clear, prompt, smooth work of all medical staff. It is very good that there are Russian-speaking nurses (Jacqueline, Elena, Violetta), who are also very attentive. The convenience of the chambers is at the highest level. The first consultation with the Russian-speaking coordinators by phone was successful. We were given comprehensive information on services and documents. The letters gave us confidence. There was a friendly attitude, professionalism. During the correspondence, we talked a lot about our problem. At first, we considered band prostatectomy for free under our medical policy. but after talking with the coordinator once again, we decided at the family council to make a choice in favor of the European Prostate Center for 6 signs:
1. short recovery period
2. minimal blood loss
3. less chance of impotence
4. minimal chance of urinary incontinence
5. minimal pain after surgery
6. best cosmetic effect

Subsequently, we received even more detailed information about the collection of documents, all emerging issues related to additional services and visa processing were clarified. We were assigned a date for the Da Vinci surgery.
We were met at the clinic. Natalia or Katerina accompanied us everywhere and everywhere. They performed their work at the highest level, helped and organized meetings with specialists. The girls are very attentive, responsive, friendly, compassionate. Throughout the treatment and the operation performed at the clinic, Katerina and Natalia were always there at the right time and the right hour.

The final consultation was conducted personally by Dr. Witt and recommendations were given for the future.

Many thanks to them for their comprehensive help and support!

With best wishes
