The Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi is a recognized leader among Italian clinics in the sphere of orthopedics and traumatology. The Institute is accredited by the Italian National Health System (SSN), and is also included in the IRCCS (Scientific Institute for Research, Hospitalization and Health Care) category, which is awarded by the Italian Ministry of Health for scientific work and the development of new treatments. Every year, the institute performs more than 3,000 operations for the installation of prostheses. The structure of the institute is represented by highly specialized orthopedic departments for each anatomical area:

  • hand surgery – all pathologies of the hand and wrist;

  • foot surgery - correction of defects;

  • joint orthopedics-shoulder, elbow, knee;

  • sports traumatology;

  • hip orthopedics-prosthetics for arthrosis, coxarthrosis, fractures, arthritis and tumors;

  • traumatology – a 24/7 department that treats injuries using the most modern methods.

For accurate and fast diagnostics, the institute's specialists use the unique X-ray orthopedic system EOS, which creates a three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of the image in high quality, while having a low radiation dose. Thanks to the ability to scan the entire patient in an upright position, the system allows the doctors to get full-length images of the skeleton at a scale of 1:1. Since 2007, the Institute has been a member of the International Society of Orthopedic Centers (ISOC), and thanks to its achievements in sports medicine, it is a platform for the center for regenerative medicine for cartilage and tendon pathologies (RE.GA.IN).

5 stars to those who operated on me... perfect doctors ... even the surgeon who operated on me was hurt by the way the nursing staff behaved... A nurse? ABOUT MONSTERS. No kidding. Something that I can hardly even tell you about how scared I was. In the midst of the Covid period, even without a family member... They were terrible, shameful things, I was seriously scared. Only one was professional and normal. Other monsters. I called my family because I wanted to sign a contract and leave the hospital immediately. Don't go there if a family member can't stay with you. The lady next to me was literally mistreated, she never got up in 4 days... not even accompanied to the bathroom, an elderly lady, but in her right mind and able to move with a little help, who asked for a glass of water or asked to go to the bathroom for a minute without doing everything on her own... I'VE NEVER BEEN ALONE IN THEM.
The doctor who visited me was very polite and helpful, but you can't do 2 hours and 50 minutes of receiving and waiting for your call! They are really disorganized! By the way, knowing Lena, I arrived an hour and a quarter before the date, and I had to wait outside for a quarter of an hour, because they only come in an hour after the visit, and not earlier. Very bad organization.
An avant-garde structure. Located in the heart of Sesto San Giovanni. Inside the building is modern and in good condition. Among other things, I personally found it very easy to get to by car. Inside, all the staff is very professional and friendly towards visitors, from the reception desk to the medical staff, all very professional, including the restaurant located inside. Among other things, this structure is part of the San Donato group of hospitals and is one of the most authoritative worldwide in the field of orthopedics !!!. A highly recommended establishment. In my opinion, be careful with some negative reviews. It has good parking inside and outside, it is easy to find thanks to the white stripes.
I am satisfied only with the part that is inherent in the operation on my mother's hip, on the part of the doctors, undoubtedly, a bad opinion about the service provided by the ward, because of which neither the same nor the social worker was able to get me to communicate with my mother during the week of hospitalization. They quickly reported only the costs of transportation by ambulance and the cost of tights for dressing. Only today, when she was transferred to the Ambrosian Clinic, I was able to hear her on the phone. I didn't ask for things from this world or out of their reach, a minimum of organization is enough and they would make a good impression.
I understand and respect the situation with Covid, but modern means and technologies do not allow other excuses.
They performed surgery on my left femur 2 weeks ago due to the consequences of a traffic accident in December 2005.... after various operations in other hospitals, it seems they managed to solve my problem.!! After the surgery, which lasted 6 hours, they restored my femur, my hip is my knee... They equalized the 12-centimeter difference in length that I pulled for 15 years after the accident..... It was very hard, but I am happy that this time I overcame the most difficult moments... Now I have a lot of physiotherapy procedures to strengthen all the thigh muscles.... They really did a noteworthy job.... reported that interventions very similar to those performed on my limb are performed on average 6 times a year throughout Italy
CONGRATULATIONS and thank you from the bottom of my heart ..
Excellent hospital for bone surgery. They follow you well step by step and make you feel at ease even if you are not 100% in these conditions.
In my case, I underwent a double maxillofacial surgery with Dr. Francesco Gallo, an excellent facial and oral surgeon. He was very good, precise, very thoughtful, and thanks to all his team, I NEVER felt pain from start to finish. Also praise to all the nurses and OSS who take care of you with such patience and love and do not make you miss their presence. The only two gaps I can point to were the "kitchen and dining room staff" who at first didn't read my briefcase well and brought me things I couldn't eat, or worse, inedible food from taste to texture, but I felt that other patients bringing them more "consistent and solid" were not bad. The second and last item is "live surgical surveillance application", my relatives said that it was blocked, and therefore they preferred to call the switchboard because I was still under the knife after the scheduled 4 hours of surgery. How about I recommend going there if you need good doctors and bone specialists
My wife had an operation two months ago. She had to wear a mask all the time because "not all employees are vaccinated," they left her for 12 hours covered in vomit because "she is sick all the time," and, like on a cake, they forgot about treating other patients on the wrong bedside tables.
In this hospital in recent years there has been a naughty collapse in relief, on the other hand, if, instead of trying to force nurses to do the work, they do it with OOS (which in General is not very patient, unkind, and, above all, perform medical work, which they are not ready ...).
At the surgical level, it still looks as good hospital, even if attention to patients crossed over from control Assembly line ....
At the level of the operation, nothing can be said, but if we talk about security, nothing. My mom, who was hospitalized at the time of the operation, was robbed in the room..money was stolen from her, and therefore you can't even take coffee, an engagement ring and a necklace. Shame. I wish only evil to the person who should be ashamed. Take advantage of those who are defenseless. And you probably work there because relatives can't get in. I wish you the same
Fantastic emergency department, very kind nurses and very attentive to the needs of the patient, as well as the doctor, Dr. Marco Riva, as you rarely meet; as soon as I confessed, they immediately asked me if I was cold, if I wanted a blanket, if I wanted the headboard to be higher, they showed me where to connect the cell phone that was ending. Dr. Riva's visit was the first "full" visit that I have always had, he listened to my whole story without haste and tried to get a general picture not only of his specialty, he visited me with extreme precision and offered a very practical way for joint reassessment. I am deeply grateful to all of you, for me today's experience was really calming, not traumatic, as it often happens. Once again, thank you endlessly.
On April 26, Professor Lazzerini "visited" me on my right wrist "well" for about 2 minutes (222 euros) without any diagnosis, since ultrasound and MRI, according to him, showed nothing, I was invited to return with an X-ray appointment, and I was told that I should spend another 170 euros because this is the second visit.... also, a kind employee invited me to ask Professor Lazzerini directly, I am talking to a very kind assistant who informs me after talking with the professor that I have to pay because this is the second visit... what can I say, congratulations on the diagnosis, for which I would have to spend almost 400 euros? Obviously, I've given up on everything that has a limit... obviously, you don't understand what a difficult moment we are all going through a little bit, and, unfortunately, it's really disappointing that you earn too much on people's health...
On September 29 last year, I was operated on in Galeazzi for bilateral coxarthrosis by a doctor. Federico Valli, an excellent professional, very kind and responsive. The medical staff, Oss and cleaners are very patient and nice (with some rare exceptions), they never make the patient feel uncomfortable in any of his needs. The rehabilitation department, where I stayed for several days after the operation, was also distinguished by professionalism and politeness. I especially remember one Boss who took care of me with the greatest grace. Physiotherapists are very knowledgeable and attentive. My experience in this hospital was very positive, the only drawback is, perhaps, the food served.
I did RMN at Galeazzi after a radiological examination done at another institute. The Galeazzi radiologist asked me to provide an X-ray disc to get the full image, saying that I would receive it along with the RMN report. Unfortunately, during the collection, they first told me that I had not delivered the CD, and then they told me that they had lost the CD with the X-ray, and therefore I had to redo everything. Radiography Heartfelt congratulations for the effectiveness and commitment shown
As a result of a heavy fall in the mountains, I received a fracture of the head of the radius with displacement and an injury to the shoulder tendon. I did all the tests in Trentino, X-rays, ultrasound and magnetic resonance, and after three doctors strongly recommended surgery on the radial head, I preferred to go home and went to the emergency room. At the sorting, I was asked why I went to the ambulance (and where should I go when I was dressed the way I was?). The doctor who takes care of me does not recommend surgery, because he still says that the hand will not recover completely even after surgery, and we live the same way, even in this case, it is important to be able to bring your hand to your face to wash, make up and put on a mask!!! Shocked by the doctor's words, I ask if he has seen an MRI of the shoulder, and he replies that it is not the responsibility of an ambulance doctor!!!!! He prescribes two directions for a control X-ray and a visit to amb Traumi in five days, which I have to record on a toll-free number, and he discharges me. In the afternoon, confused and demoralized, I go to Gaetano Pini in Milan. Very kindly met the doctor who visits me, scrupulously checks all the tests done, agrees with the need for surgery, carefully checks the magnetic resonance imaging of the shoulder and is not convinced that he prescribes a new X-ray, noticing a further small fracture also in the shoulder. He orders an urgent CT scan of my elbow and shoulder for next Monday with immediate hospitalization.
If you don't want to work at Galeazzo, devote yourself to something else and don't play with people's health and remember that I'm not going to pay a ticket for 25 euros per visit according to the white code assigned to me for sorting, despite my conditions.
I had a great time, in five months (from April to September 2021) I got two hips. Dr. Petrillo, from the Dr. team. Romagnoli.
A quick recovery, a beautiful wound and I'm already walking well,
Very professional staff.
Thank you Doctor.

Dr. Pieruccini is operating. I am very grateful to them, and a very good surgeon saved my leg from a tibial tumor. He personally came to do all the bandages. The head nurse is very good. In fact, I remember how he washed me, continuing the cycle, without disgust and without any disgust and in my opinion. Thank you very much
I went to see an orthopedist.
The organization is not entirely flawless due to Covid-19, but the doctors are absolutely cordial, accessible and friendly. A little less staff at check-in, however, I understand that there may be too much pressure, especially during this period.
I also feel that I can recommend this institute.
At the end of November last year, I had an operation on the knee meniscus. I want to thank Dr. Nikola Manta, the anesthesiologist, other doctors, medical staff, administrative staff, etc. for the treatment and professionalism shown. Even if it was not a serious intervention, the efforts of those who acted were maximum, including security measures against Covid, which certainly do not make the work easier.
Finally, special thanks for the kind deeds and for the many small gestures of understanding of those who helped me, ways and gestures that are not ordinary and obvious.
With respect.
Disorganized and rude.
I had to remove the cast after 21 days, as prescribed by the orthopedist of my own emergency department, and I stayed in the cast for 32 days because there was no room before. I had to do an MRI before removing the cast, and the next day it was even fixed. A lot of incompetents !! The appointment to the orthopedist is scheduled for 9.00 (which is why I arrived at the appointment an hour earlier), and I managed to see him no earlier than 11.00... What can I say, go to another place, where it will be better for you!!
Just perfect. I have to thank all the staff of Galeazzi and especially the head of Arthroscopic Surgery U.O. GEN1, ICS R. GALEAZZI Milan Dr. Nicola Manta for his competence and training.
Meniscus surgery in record time and flawlessly. On October 4, I was injured, on November 5, I had an operation! All with SSN. Many thanks to the whole structure and, in particular, to Dr. E. Majorana, who operated on me. Excellent professionalism and courtesy.
On October 22, I had a complicated hip operation performed by Professor L. Zagr, an excellent doctor of rare professionalism, whom I sincerely thank.
Based on my personal experience, I can say that Galeazzi Hospital is an excellent hospital that unites from the admissions committee to the medical team and medical staff.
I would also like to thank the physiotherapist Angelo of the 4th floor (rehabilitation department) for his competence and dedication to patients.
Thank you all and I cordially welcome you.
On November 3 last year, I underwent surgery for the reconstruction of the crosspiece in my right knee, and I can say that my experience was MORE THAN POSITIVE. Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute left a GREAT IMPRESSION on me with medical staff, physiotherapist, nurse and administrative assistance. Therefore, I wanted to thank Dr. Andret Mauro, who confirmed that he has the great experience, competence and dedication that I expected, the nurses who made my stay pleasant by taking care of me with love, the physiotherapist Vincenzo, who illustrated me in a clear way self-administered rehabilitation exercises, and special thanks to Valentina Vanessa and Michele, who, with their kindness and accessibility, followed me in the bureaucratic part a few weeks before the intervention, despite administrative problems with my health insurance. As for the Covid containment rules, I was pleased to note that they are applied carefully and strictly in the structure, while maintaining a high degree of security.
