Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) is the largest Czech clinical and research base of the Ministry of Health of the country, one of the best medical institutions in the Czech Republic. The clinic closely cooperates with many major institutes and medical centers in Europe, like the University of Basel (Switzerland), the Department of Neurology of the University of Würzburg (Germany), the Surgical Department of the University Hospital in Geneva (Switzerland), the University Clinic in Manchester (England), etc.

The Department of Preventive Cardiology provides comprehensive care for patients who have an increased risk of developing cardiovascular diseases: hypertension, people suffering from diabetes, obesity, etc. The IKEM has extensive experience in organ transplantation. The results of the clinic are comparable to the results achieved in the leading transplant centers in Europe and the United States. The Center of Diabetology practices an interdisciplinary approach to the problem, offering treatment in the following areas:

prevention of diabetes mellitus,

preparation of an individual treatment plan and implementation of the treatment process,

transplant treatment (pancreatic transplantation, complex kidney and pancreatic transplantation),
- prevention and treatment of complications of diabetes mellitus (dysfunction of the kidneys, eyes, blood vessels, nervous system),
