Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) is the largest Czech clinical and research base of the Ministry of Health of the country, one of the best medical institutions in the Czech Republic. The clinic closely cooperates with many major institutes and medical centers in Europe, like the University of Basel (Switzerland), the Department of Neurology of the University of Würzburg (Germany), the Surgical Department of the University Hospital in Geneva (Switzerland), the University Clinic in Manchester (England), etc.

The Department of Preventive Cardiology provides comprehensive care for patients who have an increased risk of developing cardiovascular diseases: hypertension, people suffering from diabetes, obesity, etc. The IKEM has extensive experience in organ transplantation. The results of the clinic are comparable to the results achieved in the leading transplant centers in Europe and the United States. The Center of Diabetology practices an interdisciplinary approach to the problem, offering treatment in the following areas:

I would like to thank the Cardiac Center at IKEM for not only the professional help that was provided not only to my husband, but also to the whole family. When we found ourselves in a desperate and very difficult situation for us, the ICEM approach convinced all of us that this is an excellent clinic, both professional and human. From the first contact of the secretary, through associate Professor Beshik, who beautifully and carefully told me about the operation, to Professor Pirk, who operated on my husband and subsequently informed me about the results of the operation, I know that my husband took the best care of everyone. Thanks to this, we could all be relatively calm both before and during my husband's operation. At IKEM, they treat patients individually, treat everyone humanely, not as a case of XY, and do not neglect the harmony of the head and body - they also pay attention to the mental well-being of the patient, which, unfortunately, is not a habit everywhere. Twice they performed bypass surgery on my clogged blood vessels of the heart, and so I thank Professor Pirk, I am still here at the age of 83. Thank you for the perfect approach

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the doctors, nurses, all of IKEM for saving my life. After impending liver failure and subsequent long-term treatment in the department of hepatogastroenterology, I can be with my loved ones for the second month. Thank you for the impeccable, professional approach to all employees, especially the KARIP department, where they were worried about me. After artificial sleep, they brought me back to normal life with great patience, for which I am extremely grateful. My attending physician is Dr. Kral, and I thank him for all his work and work with me.
I would like to at least thank you in this way and note the super-care of the team from the intensive care unit of transplantation. I was there for a short time, compared to other patients dealing with only minor problems, and therefore I could observe their work day and night. I should highlight their professional approach to patients and care. I couldn't believe how even these young girls (all of them are still very beautiful) can be so cute. Everything is fine here. Thank you very much!
I am already in my tenth year after a heart transplant, I want to thank the transplant team and all the doctors and all the hospital staff who took care of me all the time.

The hospital is at the highest level. Provides the best care. In particular, I can mention the department of diabetology, the excellent approach of doctors, nurses and nurses.
Magnetic resonance imaging - In June 2021, my hepatogastroenterology doctor referred me for an intestinal magnetic resonance imaging due to Crohn's disease. I had a great experience with a doctor, so I didn't even think to be afraid of the examination. I've been to another hospital before about MR, and everything went smoothly. Unfortunately, the experience with MR. IKEM was absolutely terrible. The nurses were very uncomfortable from the very beginning, which was compounded by the fact that several patients were lost much earlier than on time. After drinking a solution for stretching the intestines, I felt very bad when I told the nurse that I needed to go to the toilet again, she told me that it was no longer possible, it was very hard because I suffer from severe diarrhea and it got even worse after the decision. She told me (arrogantly) that if necessary I could squeeze the balloon and I would be pulled out of the tunnel, but don't assume that it would happen right away. When they put me on the sofa and started cooking, I was sick, I asked them if I could sit down and take a little breath, they told me that it was impossible, and if I didn't like it, then I needed to go to another hospital. When they put me in the tunnel, I felt so bad that I could not pass the examination. Their approach was completely unprofessional and inhumane. They turned a routine examination into a traumatic experience. Instead, they sent me to CT, where the staff was very nice and understanding, and the examination went smoothly. THE MAGNETIC RESONANCE DEPARTMENT DOES NOT RECOMMEND !!! I wouldn't even put 1 star!
I was at IKEA! For examination of the heart! The doctors are fine! (Dear nurse, but also different doctors for examination!, I went for catheterization, for example, a very good doctor did it to me, she explained everything, even during the operation when you are conscious)! And the sisters, and the cleaners too! You talk to everyone about everything that is possible. I'm waiting for the valve to work! And I know that I'm in safe hands here!
