The Mainz University Clinic is a multidisciplinary medical institution established at the Johannes Gutenberg University. The clinic consists of 57 specialized departments, including outpatient clinics. Every year, the specialists of the medical institution help 306 thousand patients.
The main spheres of the center are:
  • oncology,
  • radiology,
  • transplantation,
  • ophthalmology,
  • pediatrics,
  • cardiac surgery,
  • neurosurgery,
  • neurorentgenology,
  • general and abdominal surgery.
In addition to departments, clinics and research institutes, a multidisciplinary medical institution includes a blood transfusion station and a certified pharmacy. All departments of the Mainz University Hospital are provided with high-tech equipment that meets modern medical standards.
The priority in the activities of the clinic's specialists is an individual approach to each patient, thanks to which, when choosing a treatment regimen, individual indicators of the body, the patient's field of activity, as well as his preferences are taken into account. Special attention is paid to subsequent rehabilitation to consolidate the results achieved during the treatment.
All heads of departments of the Mainz University Clinic are engaged in active research activities, attend international specialized conferences and seminars, and are published in specialized medical publications.
Patients are accommodated in comfortable wards with all the necessary amenities (bathroom, telephone, TV), and also, if desired, accommodation in hotels in Mainz is possible.

Patient feedback on treatment:
Mainz University Hospital (Germany)

We publish only real reviews
After 4 years of waiting and worrying during the transplant operation, I have a new liver, and I can only report the good. All doctors are very competent, dedicated and, despite a significant lack of time, sensitive and friendly. I can give the highest rating to the medical staff, the organization and other personnel. I have complete confidence in this hospital and its people. Many thanks to all of you.
There are no doctors in the ambulance. I was given the opportunity to wait a minimum of 4 hours and a maximum of an indefinite number of hours. Maybe a doctor will come. Well, I was only in pain and I didn't die
I had acute appendicitis, I was operated on yesterday morning. In the past, all the employees worked as very good people, but they have a terrible organization. After the operation, I was transferred to one ward and where I was, I was transferred to another for orthopedics. I have nothing to do with my case, they took me out of there at 10 a.m. and while I am waiting for recovery. the room is waiting for someone... at the level of very good medical staff, but at the level of the organization leaves much to be desired What I wish, I recommend better planning, I know that it is difficult because of the pandemic There are times, but it would facilitate their work, and the recovery of patients would accelerate.
Great clinic since I was born. Long waiting time, but we know the current situation with emergency medical care, so I can understand it, very good doctors and nurses who are doing well with my recovery.
Dental and maxillofacial clinic.
Anesthesia, surgery and the results are excellent. The nurses and doctors are very nice.
Now one thing comes up: I don't eat meat and I have lactose intolerance! Notified upon admission, also indicated in the medical history. So what's on my plate? Sausages, meat and dairy products. At least it could have been vegetarian! But even this is not regulated on the third day.
I expected more from a consultation on autoimmune diseases (dermatological clinic). Unfortunately, it seemed to me that the doctor really didn't know what I had, and I felt more aware of my illness than she did. Unfortunately, this often happens, and you should no longer have high expectations. I have to introduce myself again in 3 months, and then I really ask myself why... The ladies from the reception also, unfortunately, had little interest in their work, I felt very superfluous... it's like you chose a disease.
My life was saved here by emergency heart surgery. I can't remember anything, but I'm still grateful for the rest of my days for everything that people here have done for me. Respect!
We have been to the university clinic twice in a very short time. Once a weekend in intensive care. They helped us very quickly there (the waiting time is normal, this is a clinic, not a factory!). The doctor and nurses were very friendly.
Recently, we turned to the children's polyclinic in an emergency. The nurses and anesthesiologists were very friendly. Our attending paramedic was also very competent and friendly. We felt in a good medical and human relationship. Upon admission, the first treatment of the nurse and the senior doctor was a little overcooled, but they helped us, and this, ultimately, is the most important thing. However, I have to complain about how my child (a 7-year-old timid and shy) was granted access. The senior doctor and one of the nurses did not hold him gently and very roughly paved access. You have to solve it in a different way, especially in a children's clinic. Since then, my child has been suffering from a phobia from injections. On the other hand, I absolutely recommend the children's ward. I stayed in the hospital, it was absolutely no problem. If something happens again, we will go to university again. With all the negative comments, it's also worth thinking about, nurses and doctors sometimes work at the limit! Least of all they can help with understaffing, which often happens for financial reasons. You can't do more than work. You can make a big contribution to creating a friendly atmosphere, especially when dealing with each other. From a medical point of view, everything went as it should, and we can recommend the clinic to others.
There have already been two operations there. Make checks here every six months, everything is fine. I can advise everyone to visit this institution with specialists if their own health is a priority!
In recent years, he has been treated several times in different departments. Urology, cardiology, eye clinic, nuclear medicine. I had only the best impressions everywhere. All doctors were competent, sensitive and friendly. The medical staff is just great. Always friendly and reliable. If possible, I will not go to any other clinic. Thanks everyone.
