Russian Research Center of Radiology and Surgical Technologies is an unique hospital that provides high-tech medical care using the most modern diagnostic and treatment methods. Having a history of more than a century, the scientific center is rightfully considered one of the leading centers in Russia in radiology. Nowadays the RRC's are practicing such methods for detecting and treating various diseases as x-ray surgery, radionuclide, positron and proton.
6 operating rooms in RRC equipped with the latest medical hardware, more than 1000 oncological and cardiac operations and organ transplantations are performed annually. Radiosurgery departments effectively cure diseases such as brain tumors, lung cancer, malignant tumors of the head and neck, pancreatic cancer, Hodgkin's lymphoma and others. There are also 2 angiographic complexes for endovascular treatment, minimally invasive interventions and radiofrequency hyperthermic ablation of tumors are performed here.
The Department of Transplant Surgery has been performing successful liver and kidney transplants since 1998. More than 240 successful liver transplants have already been performed and about 20 such operations are performed every year.
The center's radiology departments use all types of radiation therapy, including narrow photon and proton beams with stereotactic guidance. In addition, the clinic is equipped with a modern, highly effective Gamma Knife, which allows operations to remove brain and neck tumors without open surgery.
