Rehabilitation

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital or Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) specializes in musculoskeletal problems and neurodegenerative diseases. Frequent patients of the clinic are people with spinal cord injuries, bone tumors, and back pain. In addition to treatment, such patients can undergo a rehabilitation course here, which is selected individually, taking into account the diagnosis and condition of the patient. Patients come to the clinic for treatment not only from the United Kingdom, but also from other countries. For some of them, it becomes a place of treatment, and for others it is important to get the opinion of a specialist and confirm the correctness of the previously selected treatment and recovery methods recommended by doctors of other medical institutions. A special feature of the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is its working methods. When applying to the clinic, the patient receives help from several specialists at the same time. This allows the doctors to confirm the correctness of the diagnosis and develop the most optimal treatment. The high level of medical staff is indicated by the fact that specialists from other medical institutions are regularly trained in the clinic. In addition, the doctors of the hospital themselves participate in the annual world symposia, conduct joint research work with colleagues. All this allows us to improve and develop treatment methods and exchange experience, which undoubtedly has the most positive effect on the treatment approaches of each patient in an orthopedic hospital.

Patient feedback on treatment:

My husband has recently been a patient in the hospital and continues to attend both control visits and visits for ongoing rehabilitation. His experience as a patient has been amazing both in terms of treatment and care and attention. The staff across the board was exceptional. A vivid example for everyone who provides medical services. Also, therapists conducting ongoing rehabilitation have a firm but very humane approach to achieving goals in order to achieve maximum mobility.
I was diagnosed with cancer and had surgery a few months ago. I have been to many hospitals as an inpatient, but I have never received this level of care and service. I almost didn't want to leave the hospital, says someone who hates hospitals. The surgeon/doctors as well as the nurses took great care of me and were very attentive to my needs.
I have to admit, I was scared to death. It was my first operation, so I was very worried.
I've been working at the hospital for almost 5 years, and the nurses there have been phenomenal compared to the hospital I work at. I was so lucky to have had an operation there, and I am very grateful to the staff who looked after me. I only hope that this level of care will continue.
Thank you all for your care and support.
After a very stressful few months with the news that I would need to have surgery, my experience of staying at the RNOC and the procedures performed at the RNOC were simply amazing. Full kind and caring staff and a very clean environment. Dr. Aston and the team were great, and I urge everyone who deals with RNOC to trust them, you are in good hands!
My daughter had 2 surgeries there a few years ago and she had excellent treatment, but now my friend has leg cancer and they failed the operation, so they had to repeat it. The drainage was removed too early and provoked an infection in the leg. Now the cancer has spread to another part of his body. It was supposed to start treatment a few weeks ago, now they have bad news. I am absolutely disgusted with the way he was treated in this hospital.
The staff of the X-ray department tried their best to be gentle, kind and helpful, but at the same time maintained their experience and professionalism.
I was accepted in the RNOC for a major operation scheduled for September 8 by Mr. Jan Lechowski. Despite the fact that I was already under anesthesia, he stopped the intervention with great responsibility, as he noticed additional unforeseen risks. This has been brought to my attention for approval. He explained everything to me, and through video chats, all the questions asked by two members of my family who are in the UK were answered. I am grateful to Mr. Lechowski, as well as to Dr. John and Moon for their care. The medical staff and assistants were very attentive. I received a lot of care during the 4 weeks I spent here away from my home country of MALTA. MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE. WELL DONE. I FELT 100% CARING. I had a dislocated intervertebral disc, which damaged my spine, which led to a completely paralyzed body. One of my lungs had to be temporarily deflated, and a rib had to be removed permanently. Thanks again. Herbert Kamenzuli from Malta
Doctors and nurses may be knowledgeable, but the administrator is almost useless. We are private patients and couldn't talk to someone on the phone. They also didn't bother to send us a medical report.
We will not return to this hospital - only because of the lack of communication (which you need when your child is being treated).
All the staff are wonderful, and the hospital is located in such a beautiful, quiet place. It is ideal when you feel unwell after surgery. It's nice just to be able to sit outside and feel safe without the noise of cars. The hospital is one-level, without elevators and stairs. Ideal for anyone who has difficulty moving around. This is very useful if you stay there, as you can easily go outside. This hospital is the cleanest hospital I have ever visited. The only hospital where I always see a cleaner in the wards. AMAZING!! Outpatient patients can be delayed, however, it is understandable when you know that some people are told that they have cancer. The hospital has a McMillan team who, after the diagnosis, will really do everything possible to support you. Amazing Staff, Amazing hospital, I can't blame them for anything.
I was very impressed with how pleasant and helpful the staff was towards me and other patients. They were very attentive, fulfilling their duty of care, it was easy to contact them and they easily answered any of our questions.
The food at the hospital was very good, and the alternative menu to choose from was also good.
So in general, I have no complaints, no bad words about the hospital staff.
My daughter underwent a very difficult operation here and the surgeon was great, the specialist support team and all the medical staff played a vital role in the operation and gave my daughter the opportunity to use her arm again after a fall that destroyed almost her entire arm/elbow. We can 't thank them enough !!!
From arrival to departure, I received a super level of care following my recent ankle reconstruction surgery performed by Mr. Nicholas Cullen. …
One of the best hospitals I've ever been to. Experienced consultants, friendly staff, usually punctual meetings, a modern building and a good coffee shop. I really recommend it!
