We were at an open house. Everything seemed to be OK until I asked for a certificate for this activity. This institution does not have a certificate that they are an umbilical cord blood bank. The certificate, which is dated 2011, cannot be indefinite and it seemed to me that it is 100% fake. They do not have a fresh certificate issued by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine that this institution is an umbilical cord blood bank. And he should be! According to Law #286 of 02.03.2016. The certificate of attestation states that this is a laboratory, not a bank. In the certificate itself, the end date of the certificate is written in a handwritten pen. To my great regret, I was convinced that another deception in Ukraine was to lure money. I read reviews about the Hemofund and about their scandal and decided to contact this bank (Institute) but as it turned out, this structure does not have proper documents and they are not a bank as such, but according to the documents they are a laboratory. Therefore, everything is at your own risk. Although the reviews about this institution were good.
I gave birth in Lelek, the doctor recommended saving the umbilical cord blood of our baby, commenting ... this is priceless material. The contract was signed with the Institute of Cell Therapy, and we received another 10% discount from the Lyolka maternity hospital for the collection and storage of material. The container was brought to the maternity hospital in advance, the husband controlled the collection of material during childbirth. In the cryobank, the tests were done on time under the contract, then they informed us of the results and prepared a certificate. We made the payment in installments, first an advance , and then the remainder. In the near future we plan to sign up for an excursion to the cryobank ... it's interesting to see the technologies of the future.
More recently, stem cells were more often heard in science fiction films, and now it has become real and accessible. The preservation of stem cells is the best gift I gave my child for birth! Diseases are "getting younger", but medicine does not stand still either. More and more diseases are being treated using stem cells. Of course, I want the need to use them to arise as late as possible, but such reinsurance will never be superfluous, especially since it is absolutely safe for the baby. The contract was signed with the Institute of Cell Therapy at the Open Day, receiving a 10% discount.

For the first time, my husband and I learned about stem cells at the School for Pregnant Women event at the Institute of Cell Therapy. Having studied all the pros and cons of this service, we decided to conclude a contract and give our firstborn the most expensive gift - biological insurance! Collecting the material is safe for both mom and baby. The opportunity is unique - only during childbirth!
Several times I tried to find out how the collected stem cells can be used in practice. They said something unintelligible every time. They said for sure that they do not treat oncology in Ukraine, maybe they are treated abroad, but the center does not know about it. One of the advantages is the price. In the states, such things are ten times more expensive. But if necessary, it is not clear how to transport these cells to the states - it should be a special cryocontainer, how airport security and all sorts of sanitary stations in the states will treat this container is not clear.

There are a lot of things I didn't like about the contract. But now only about one thing: the clause according to which the bank can terminate the contract unilaterally contains, in addition to any "war, floods, earthquakes", the phrase "and so on". So in the case of cryobank jambs because of this "and so on", the bank does not owe you anything. Under "and stuff" you can stuff ANYTHING.
After the presentation, I approached the person who was making the presentation to ask about this item. His answer: "Oh, you know, I'm a doctor. I don't know anything about these legal issues. The contract is standard, no one will alter it for you." So much for business in Ukrainian. In principle, you can leave a number in the contract, a phrase that the bank will store blood, payment details, and "and so on".

But now only about one thing: the clause according to which the bank can terminate the contract unilaterally contains, in addition to any "war, floods, earthquakes", the phrase "and so on". So in the case of cryobank jambs because of this "and so on", the bank does not owe you anything. Under "and stuff" you can stuff ANYTHING.
After the presentation, I approached the person who was making the presentation to ask about this item. His answer: "Oh, you know, I'm a doctor. I don't know anything about these legal issues. The contract is standard, no one will alter it for you." So much for business in Ukrainian. In principle, you can leave a number in the contract, a phrase that the bank will store blood, payment details, and "and so on".
I am glad that we have medicine that corresponds to world trends - such a simple procedure gives significant guarantees for the preservation of the health of your child, and possibly the whole family. The cost is insignificant compared to what you get in the future (plus it is much lower than anywhere else in the country and the largest range of services is also provided here) - our family is already a cryobank client.
We also decided to conclude a contract when my husband visited Kiev, was in a medical town and was able to personally evaluate everything that was offered on the spot. I also visited cryobank by appointment: I assure you that the level is more than European: this is a serious specialized institution. On the spot, I solved the issue with papers and a container for transportation (we live in Kharkiv). We are waiting for the birth and are a little worried - it's very nice to communicate with the girl from the call center, I probably already tired her with my questions.
I was a little doubtful whether it was necessary to save blood from the umbilical cord - it is not known whether the baby will need it, and the cost of storage is quite high. And then I met a family that already preserves cells in this cord blood bank. It so happened that they already had to use it, the drug was suitable for the first child in the family who needed to be treated. If there were no preserved cells of their own, the treatment would cost ten times more expensive. So we also decided to keep cord blood in this clinic. I went to the open day, everything is explained very clearly, everything was shown - there is no reason not to trust, especially since friends have had blood stored here for many years, from which the drug was made.
