Sachsenhausen Hospital is a multidisciplinary medical institution with more than 120 years of history: it was opened in 1895 and became the first clinic in Europe specializing in the treatment of diabetes. The main rule of the clinic is to maintain high quality standards for all the services offered. The leading directions of the hospital are:

  • surgery,

  • cardiology and cardiac surgery,

  • endocrinology,

  • gastroenterology,

  • obstetrics and gynecology,

  • diabetology and bariatrics.

The Sachsenhausen Clinic is considered to be theone of the best maternity hospitals and interventional radiology centers. The clinic also successfully works in the area of physical therapy and rehabilitation. Every year, the clinic serves more than 10,000 patients, and 90% of operations are performed by a minimally invasive (sparing) method thanks to innovative laparoscopic technologies and highly qualified doctors. Sachsenhausen Hospital's achievement is the practice of setting endobarriers for patients with obesity and type 2 diabetes. This technique allows you to adjust the level of glucose in the blood and keep it normal without taking tablet drugs for diabetes.

Patient feedback on treatment:
Sachsenhausen Hospital in Frankfurt am Main (Germany)

I recently gave birth to a baby here. No midwife, no interest. When connected to CTG and IV, after 2 hours I had to detach myself to go to the toilet. It was not an active birth, because they immediately came to find out why I had unfastened the CTG, reconnected me and told me to lie down. In the end, the birth ended by Caesarean because the baby did not insert the head into the canal (how was he supposed to do it when I had to lie down?).
No ball, no help, no support. My husband wasn't with me, and I was all alone. In addition, both midwives who were on this shift were very unpleasant, it is clear that they did not want to deal with me.
Ridiculous. You are not even allowed to accompany the patient in the building. Patients have to do everything themselves, and there is no quick help. Just bad.
Professor Dr. Hornemann and his team of gynecologists in collaboration with the doctor. The anesthesiologists of Stubbik van der are competent, attentive and extremely friendly to the patient with his worries and fears before, during and after surgery.
The hospital consists of several buildings, and the department of operative Gynecology is located in Building C, 3rd floor B. The patient wards are functional, equipped with the latest technology, equipped with a multimedia system, beautiful, bright, and some have a bathroom with daylight. Everything is very clean, there is a disinfectant spray in the bathroom.
Well-trained, attentive and cordial medical staff allocates the gynecological department first of all, and from the first moment I felt safe and in safe hands.
After our first birth in 2017, we decided to give birth again at Sachsenhausen Hospital, and it was the best decision we could make. We gave birth by Caesarean section both at the first birth and at the current 2 births, and felt that we were in the safe hands of Mrs. Dr. Reuter and her team. Despite the difficulties with the current Caesarean section, I have always felt safe and in safe hands, and I want to thank everyone involved in this. The obstetric team also responded very well to our requests and took very good care of us.
both of our sons were born in this hospital (2019 and 2021), and we can only recommend it. The very friendly and professional staff, comfortable facilities and food, as well as the central location make the Sachsenhausen Clinic an ideal choice for us. When we were there, it was never too crowded, and we always received an individual approach from the staff to the babies and our needs. Many thanks to the midwives Kristina Fries and Dina Martin and all the doctors (especially Dr. Reuter). When we decide to give birth again in Frankfurt, it will be at the Sachsenhausen Clinic again :)
The whole team is so nice and friendly. Very good support.
Thank you very much.
We gave birth to a baby in February 2021 in this hospital. The staff was great! They treated us very well and we felt comfortable and well taken care of during the 4 days we stayed there. Doctors speak excellent English.
The hospital is small, so it seems that it is quite secluded. It's nice to get some fresh air in the courtyard. The location is perfect and there is a wonderful Italian restaurant (Ciro) where you can order food if you don't like the one served at the hospital.
An information evening for expectant parents should take place every 1st and 3rd Thursday through the GoTo app - the participants gathered today, but there was no organizer. In other clinics it is organized better.

I felt in very good hands at Sachsenhausen Hospital. Prof. Hornemann and the entire team involved in the operation and postoperative care were competent, attentive and very friendly, including with each other.
The best doctors with understanding, calmness and impeccable accuracy, and you feel at home.
