The third largest university hospital in Germany is located in the state of Giessen and is located in two centers – the university cities of Giessen and Marburg. In eighty clinics and institutes of the hospital, about 436 thousand patients are treated annually, including 94 thousand inpatient patients. The medical complex is both one of the oldest and one of the most advanced in Europe. The center in Giessen focuses on the services of surgery, internal medicine and emergency medicine, while the center in Marburg specializes in the care of children and adolescents. The medical complex of the clinic specializes in the following types of services:

  • surgery;

  • anesthesia;

  • internalmedicine;

  • pediatricsandadolescentmedicine;

  • neurology;

  • gynecologyandobstetrics;

  • ophthalmology;

  • otorhinolaryngology;

  • radiology;

  • dentistry, maxillofacialsurgery.

Close cooperation with the medical faculties of Justus Liebig University and high-tech enterprises in Germany allows the clinic to provide advanced medical care to its patients. The latest and most effective methods of treatment, developed on the basis of the University, are immediately used in the clinic. This institution is among the leaders in Germany in terms of the number of successful lung transplants. Early recovery after surgery is achieved by providing rehabilitation support. The clinic of Giessen and Marburg is truly huge, so here attention is paid not only to patients, but also to their accompanying persons. The infrastructure includes parking spaces, cafeterias and kiosks. There is also a children's room, a flower shop and a bookshop in Marburg.

Patient feedback on treatment:

We publish only real reviews
He was a father during childbirth. The doctors, midwives and nurses were very nice. The only stupidity was that in many rooms, corridors and halls I did not have cell phone reception. The hospital is so huge - like a city in the middle of nature. You need a good network.
The best staff and doctors are very friendly and helpful. We were in the children's clinic for 3 days, it was a very good day. They took so much time, did tests, etc., explained everything and immediately started therapy. You're just mega, keep going, so we'd like to come back. My daughter said that she only goes to Marburg, they are all so cute, cute, help and even have fun with the children. We are even ready to drive 80 kilometers to the clinic. Thank you 1000 times for everything.

Great
She sought help from the University Clinic of Hesse and Marburg in Germany for knee replacement surgery. A year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with deforming osteoarthritis of the knee joints. During this time, serious changes occurred and I was unable to walk. In the clinic for 2 weeks, I was not only given a high-quality prosthesis, but also underwent a rehabilitation course. Now I continue to recover, but I feel much better. I can walk and sit, the pain no longer bothers. Thank you to my saviors for this!
I can only say good things about the clinic. I am a nurse myself, and I have never felt such care as at the University Hospital of Marburg. I was brought by helicopter as there was a case of extreme necessity. The doctors and medical staff have done a great job and are just very, very nice and competent. Thank you so much for everything!!!
Super rude staff. You should apologize that you are sick and need help. There is no care and cleanliness in the rooms. And this is despite the corona pandemic. He was a patient after a heroin tumor followed by chemotherapy. I just hope that all the best will be with other patients and that they don't have to go there.
Excellent clinic, treat patients with respect, treat them with high quality.

Poor
With a nasal operation, I was in the oncology department, where patients with dementia also lay! Every day they told me they had to transfer me, but it didn't happen!
After the operation, I had to ask for a visit 5 times, until finally one of the ENT doctors came to me, and this was only because the bleeding from the eye opened!
The operation itself and the doctor who performed it were super, but he does not belong to the clinic!
Super nice staff in neurology. A really very competent team.
I was in radiotherapy. I was first turned away on all the tests. Then we conducted a test on what dose of radiation I could be given so that it would be effective and safe. And only after that they started treatment, but everything went quickly. Soon I will go to the 3rd course again.
It was the best thing that could have happened to me! I have been treated by a home doctor for more than 1.5 years, unfortunately, to no avail. Then I came to UKM within a few days I was almost 100 percent cured. The kitchen (food) is super cool.
I had the best sisters, the best doctors and the best head doctor. Thanks again
We sit in the emergency department for children at the University Hospital for about three hours and can't go any further because the only doctor allowed to order an X-ray is in the operating room. There must be at least a second doctor authorized to prescribe this in a personal union. How can I explain such bureaucracy to an eight-year-old crying in pain child? Next to us are other desperate parents with their children. Here I blame not the dedicated staff of the clinic, who are hopelessly overloaded, but rather the hospital administration, which wants to save on staff costs.
Inpatient stay, staff that, apparently, there is no desire to work.
ENT department - not recommended.
Very good doctors, and also the staff is very friendly.
The clinic where my life was saved twice.
